Government has already put in place new policies and macro plans that have influenced the forestry sector reform process.<\/p>\n<p>TheMinistry is committed to supporting the various reforms in the sector, including policy, legal and institutional reforms that aims at creating efficient and transparent systems for management of the forest resources. The Uganda Forestry Policy (2001) offers the needed guide and identifies the various categories of stakeholders that will contribute to the development of forestry in Uganda. A participatory, cross-sectoral approach will always be promoted to enable the contribution of the government and non-governmental organisations and institutions in the development of the forest sector.
